Connecting Generations
This 800 SF ADU is situated to create an exterior living room between itself and the existing house. This new shared, outdoor space furnishes a place for this multi-generational family to entertain and commune with nature. Expansive, south facing glazed openings provide warmth and light, as well as a connection to the outdoors and the main house beyond. The asymmetrical pitched roof houses solar panels that will service the ADU’s all electric systems. Such systems include a hybrid heat-pump water heater that provides domestic hot water and heated water for the hydronic floor heating.
